South College Strong
There is one thing that we all have in common; cancer has affected each of our lives.
Whether you are a survivor, you are currently battling cancer or you have supported a friend, family member or colleague in their fight, we have all been impacted.
Let’s come together and take action to help fight cancer! Please consider joining South College’s team in the Race Against Cancer on November 12, 2015, at the World’s Fair Park.
One thing that sets the Race Against Cancer apart from other fundraisers is that all proceeds stay right here in East Tennessee and benefit the Outreach Services program at the Thompson Cancer Survival Center. Thompson Outreach Services provides mammography and prostate, skin, colon and cervical cancer screenings to the medically underserved in 18 counties across East Tennessee.
The Race Against Cancer has several different activities on race day. Team members can participate in the timed or untimed 5K or the 1-mile Walk in the Park. Not a runner? No problem! Tons of people will be walking the 5K and pets are invited to come along.
Even if you cannot make it to the race, you can still participate in the Race. Simply register for the Afternoon Nap option. You are still a member of South College’s team and a get a race t-shirt. Most importantly, you have helped an East Tennessee neighbor get a potential life-saving cancer screening.
